OpenAI Partners with Condé Nast to Feature Content from Vogue and More

OpenAI has entered a multi-year partnership with Condé Nast, the global publisher behind renowned magazines such as Vogue, The New Yorker, and GQ. This collaboration will allow OpenAI’s ChatGPT and its search engine, SearchGPT, to feature content from these prestigious publications.

The deal highlights the growing interest from tech companies in using content produced by media organisations to train AI models. However, some media outlets, including The New York Times and the Chicago Tribune, have resisted such agreements, even pursuing legal action to protect their content.

While the financial details of the partnership remain undisclosed, OpenAI’s Chief Operating Officer, Brad Lightcap, emphasised their commitment to maintaining the accuracy and integrity of news as AI increasingly influences content discovery and delivery. Roger Lynch, CEO of Condé Nast, expressed that this partnership would help sustain their journalism and creative efforts.

The partnership comes as OpenAI continues to develop SearchGPT, an AI-powered search engine launched last month. OpenAI has also secured collaborations with other media giants, including Time Magazine and the Associated Press, as AI technology becomes increasingly integral to the future of internet search.
