
Nitin Chugh Retires As Deputy MD & Head Of Digital Banking Of SBI
Nitin Chugh, Deputy Managing Director (Dy MD) and Head of Digital Banking & Transformation of State Bank of India (SBI), has retired upon completion of his tenure, effective March 3, 2026.
Chugh is a banker with 29 years of experience in the financial sector. He joined SBI in March 2022. Prior to this, he served as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and MD of the Ujjivan Small Finance Bank from December 2019 to September 2021. He worked at HDFC Bank for over 18 years between 2001 and 2019, handling roles in retail banking, credit cards, branch banking, and digital channels. He led credit card sales from 2004 to 2008 and later served as Group Head for Digital Banking from 2013 to 2019. Earlier in his career, he worked with HCL Ltd., Modi Xerox Ltd., and Standard Chartered Bank. He holds an engineering degree and an MBA.
