MRPL Appoints Sanjay Varma as Managing Director

Sanjay Varma has been appointed as the Managing Director (additional charge) of Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL), a government-owned oil PSU and a wholly owned subsidiary of ONGC. The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Government of India, issued the order, and Varma’s tenure began on June 1.

With over 35 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, Varma brings a wealth of expertise to his new role. He has held various leadership positions in operations management, project management, materials management, and health, safety, and environment management.

Varma has been associated with MRPL since 1993, playing a crucial role in the execution and operation of the refinery and its aromatic complex. As the director of the refinery since June 2020, he has already contributed to MRPL’s success.
