Michael J. Angelakis Joins American Express Board of Directors

American Express appoints Michael J. Angelakis to its Board of Directors, effective March 3, 2025. Angelakis, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Atairos, will also serve on the Board’s Audit and Compliance Committee and Nominating, Governance, and Public Responsibility Committee.

Angelakis founded Atairos in 2016. He is a Senior Advisor to Comcast Corporation’s Executive Management Committee and previously served as Comcast’s Vice Chairman and CFO. Before Comcast, he was MD of Providence Equity Partners. He also serves on the Boards of Exxon Mobil, Lucky Strike Entertainment, TriNet Group, and Clarivate Plc (until May 7, 2025). Additionally, he holds board positions at Arcis Golf, The Orogen Group, Aston Villa F.C., and V Sports. He is a graduate of Babson College and completed Harvard Business School’s Owner/President Management Program.
