MCA Introduces New CSR-1 Form To Enhance Compliance & Oversight

The Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) has notified a revised CSR-1 form for the registration of entities implementing corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives on behalf of companies.

The updated form reflects amendments to existing CSR rules. Experts said the move is aimed at improving transparency and accountability in CSR implementation. Under the revised rules, universities, hospitals, and certain large charitable organisations, previously exempt from registration, will now be required to register with the ministry to continue undertaking CSR activities. The change applies to all implementing agencies, ensuring that they meet the compliance framework laid out by the ministry. The revised process is expected to help in better monitoring of CSR projects and ensure that only eligible entities undertake such responsibilities.
