Manish Sabharwal Joins PhonePe Board, Binny Bansal Steps Down

PhonePe has appointed Manish Sabharwal as an Independent Director and Chair of its Audit Committee while Binny Bansal steps down from its Board of Directors.

Sabharwal, Vice Chairman of TeamLease Services, brings years of experience in policy, education, and employment. He previously served as an Independent Director on the Reserve Bank of India’s Board. Meanwhile, Flipkart co-founder Binny Bansal has stepped down from PhonePe’s Board after acquiring the company in 2016 and contributing to its growth. CEO Sameer Nigam expressed gratitude for Binny’s guidance and welcomed Manish, highlighting his expertise in shaping India’s economic and policy landscape. The Board changes align with PhonePe’s vision for long-term growth and innovation.
