
Lt. Gen. D. B. Shekatkar Retires As Independent Director Of Force Motors
Lt. Gen. Dr. D. B. Shekatkar (Retd.) has ceased to be the Independent Director of Force Motors Limited upon completion of his term with effect from February 12, 2025.
Lt. Gen. (Dr.) D.B. Shekatkar served in the Indian Army for four decades, participating in the 1965 and 1971 wars with Pakistan and overseeing the China front during the Kargil War. He was involved in counterinsurgency in the Northeast, Operation Blue Star, and managing communal violence. At Army Headquarters, he held key roles in military operations, India-China boundary talks, Siachen negotiations, and India-USA defence cooperation. He facilitated the reintegration of 1,267 militants in Kashmir. He received the Vishisht Seva Medal (1981), the Ati Vishisht Seva Medal (1997), and the Param Vishisht Seva Medal (2002). Post-retirement, he was Chair Professor at Pune University and is involved with national security organisations, focusing on preparing future generations for strategic challenges.
