Kulin S. Lalbhai Appointed As Chairman Of Arvind SmartSpaces; Amit Chamaria As CFO
Kulin S. Lalbhai, Vice Chairman and Non-Executive Director of Arvind SmartSpaces Limited, has been appointed as the Chairman of the Board, w.e.f. November 3, 2025. He replaces Sanjay S. Lalbhai, who stepped down from the position on the above-mentioned date.
Further, Amit Chamaria has been appointed as Chief Financial Officer and Key Managerial Personnel (CFO & KMP) of the company, effective November 3, 2025.
Additionally, Dr. Prashant Das and Punit S. Lalbhai have been appointed as an Independent Director and Non-Executive Director (Additional Director), respectively, w.e.f. November 3, 2025, subject to the requisite approval of members of the company.
Kulin S. Lalbhai, a fifth-generation business leader and Vice Chairman of Arvind Ltd., oversees the Group’s consumer and digital businesses, including Arvind Fashions, Arvind SmartSpaces, and Syntel Telecom. Arvind Limited is a USD 3 billion conglomerate with operations spanning textiles, retail, branded apparel, engineering, real estate, telecom, and environmental solutions, employing around 36,000 professionals. An alumnus of Stanford University and Harvard Business School, Kulin is committed to innovation, empathy, and Arvind’s legacy of responsible business. Under his leadership, Arvind Fashions has diversified into new product categories and strengthened its omnichannel presence. He also guides Arvind SmartSpaces’ real estate expansion. Kulin serves as Chairman of CII Gujarat and Vice Chairman of the Retailers Association of India, while pursuing interests in fitness and reading.
Before his current role, Amit Chamaria was CFO at HyFun AgriLink, leading financial and digital transformation, expansion, and governance initiatives. He is a Chartered Accountant with over 20 years of experience in corporate finance, strategy, and operations across IT, FMCG, ag-tech, food processing, and manufacturing sectors. He began his career with Infosys Technologies, gaining strong exposure to global finance and technology-driven processes. He later held senior leadership roles in organisations such as Innoterra, where he contributed to financial control, strategic planning, and business transformation. His expertise spans financial planning, risk management, fundraising, M&A, and capital structuring.
Dr. Prashant Das is Chairperson of the Finance & Accounting area and Associate Professor of Real Estate at IIM Ahmedabad. Formerly, he was Associate Professor and Director of the Real Estate Institute at EHL Lausanne, Switzerland. At IIMA, he developed the Indian Agri Land Price Index (ISALPI) and the Indian Art Price Index (IAIAI). He serves on the boards of GREMI University and XISS Ranchi and has taught at institutions including Harvard University and the University of Melbourne. Author of over 30 research papers, 15 cases, and three books, Dr. Das’s work has earned multiple international awards. His research covers real estate private equity, REITs, MBS, hotels, and sustainability.
Punit Lalbhai is the Vice Chairman of Arvind Ltd., overseeing the Group’s Textile, Engineering, Technical Textile, and Environmental businesses. He has led Arvind’s growth in technical textiles and advanced materials, making it one of the company’s fastest-growing segments. Under his leadership, Arvind has become a global player in human protection garments, industrial fabrics, and composite products, while achieving 100% water circularity and nearly 50% renewable energy use. Punit also drives sustainability initiatives through roles on the boards of the Apparel Impact Institute and Organic Cotton Accelerator. Actively engaged in higher education, he serves on the Boards of Ahmedabad and CEPT Universities. He holds degrees from UC Davis, Yale University, and an MBA from INSEAD.
