Kotak Bank Re-designates KVS Manian as Jt. MD & Shanti Ekambaram as Deputy MD
Kotak Mahindra Bank Limited has announced the redesignation of KVS Manian, currently serving as Whole Time Director, as the Joint Managing Director with effect from March 1. Additionally, Shanti Ekambaram, the current Whole Time Director, will be redesignated as Deputy Managing Director with effect from March 1.
Devang Gheewalla has been appointed as Chief Financial Officer (designated as President and Group Chief Financial Officer), and it will be with effect from April as he will replace Jaimin Bhatt, who will retire on March 31. The bank has also appointed Milind Magnur as Chief Operating Officer (COO) with effect from April, and he will be responsible for both the bank’s operations and the broader domains of group technology architecture and cybersecurity.
Paul Parambi, who is currently serving as Chief Risk Officer, has been appointed as Group Chief Risk Officer effective March.
KVS Manian, Cost and Works Accountant, has approximately three decades of experience at Kotak. Manian holds a postgraduate degree in financial management from the Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies, Mumbai. He graduated from the Indian Institutes of Technology (BHU) in Varanasi with a degree in electrical engineering.
Shanti Ekambaram is a chartered accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) and has more than three decades of experience. She also holds a degree in commerce.
A few months ago, the bank appointed Ashok Vaswani, a former Barclays veteran, as Chief Executive Officer (CEO), replacing founder and billionaire banker Uday Kotak. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) approved his three-year term, and he officially started on January 1.
