Kirloskar Industries Appoints Rahul Kirloskar, Sumit Mitra & Sathyamoorthy Venkataramani As Independent Directors
Rahul Kirloskar, Sumit Mitra, and Sathyamoorthy Venkataramani have been appointed as Independent Directors of Kirloskar Industries Limited, with effect from November 14, 2025. Their appointments were approved on December 29, 2025.
Kirloskar has been associated with the Kirloskar Group for more than 37 years. In 1993, he was appointed Managing Director (MD) of Kirloskar Pneumatic Company Ltd. and became Chairman in 1998. Between 2001 and 2012, he served as Director of Exports at Kirloskar Oil Engines Ltd., where he was responsible for expanding export operations for the company and across the Kirloskar Group. He founded Kirloskar Chillers and has been involved in industry bodies. He has served as Chairman of the Confederation of Indian Industry Pune Council and the Maharashtra State CII Council.
Mitra is the Head of Group HR and Corporate Services at Godrej Industries Group. He joined Godrej as a management trainee and has spent over 25 years working across multiple group businesses, including FMCG, real estate, and food and agriculture. He leads group-wide people practices and employer branding for around 20,000 employees across more than 20 countries in Asia, Africa, and Latin America. Mitra is involved in due diligence, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), change management, and cross-cultural integration linked to the group’s global expansion. He also heads Godrej Good and Green, the group’s corporate social responsibility initiative focused on social and environmental priorities. Mitra holds a master’s degree in personnel management from Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, Pune, completed in 1996.
Venkataramani has over 30 years of experience in indirect tax practice, covering advisory, assessments, appeals, and representation before tribunals and enforcement authorities. He was associated with the firm Singhvi, Dev & Unni, Chartered Accountants, for around three decades in roles including employee, partner, and advisor, and has been in independent practice since January 2020. Venkataramani is a member of committees formed by trade bodies, professional associations, chambers of commerce, and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. He serves as a speaker and faculty on sales tax, value-added tax, and GST at state and national forums. He has also co-authored books on VAT and GST. Venkataramani is a science graduate and a Fellow Chartered Accountant.
