Kirloskar Electric Appoints Vijay R Kirloskar as Executive Chairman

Kirloskar Electric Company Ltd appointed Vijay R Kirloskar as the Executive Chairman on 17th July 2023.

Vijay Ravindra Kirloskar aged 72 years, is the promoter of the company who started his career with the firm in the year 1978 as Manager-Production. Later on, he became President of the company. Vijay Kirloskar was designated as Managing Director of the Company w.e.f 17th August 1985. He also served as the Chairman of the Kirloskar Group between 1994 to 1998. The Group and the Company showed considerable growth under his stewardship. He has held various important positions in the industry including the position of Vice President of CII for the year 1998. He holds a master’s degree in Management Science and Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Worcester, MA, USA.

Board has also approved the appointment of a new independent director Suresh Kumar for a term of five years. Kumar’s career spanning four decades commenced as a management trainee at ITC hotels in 1978. He became a General Manager in 1987 and subsequently VP Operations-ITC Prefixed Hotels till he was entrusted with the responsibility of steering ITC’s Wholly Owned Subsidiary, the Fortune Park Hotels Ltd. as Managing Director with an additional charge of Welcome Heritage Hotels as well, till his superannuation in February 2018. He is an Advanced Management Programme degree holder from Bond University, Australia, and a Science Graduate from Delhi University.
