Kingfisher Appoints Bhavesh Mistry As Next CFO, Succeeding Bernard Bot
Home improvement retailer Kingfisher announced on Monday that Bhavesh Mistry, currently the Finance Chief at British Land, will become its next Chief Financial Officer (CFO), succeeding Bernard Bot, who is set to retire. British Land confirmed that Mistry has a 12-month notice period, with the exact departure date yet to be determined. Kingfisher indicated that Bot will remain in his role until at least January 2025.
Mistry has served as CFO of British Land for three years, during which time the company has divested stakes in London office complexes and shopping centres. Prior to this role, he was Deputy CFO at Tesco from 2018 to 2021 and has held senior finance positions at Whitbread, Virgin Media, and Anheuser-Busch InBev.
Kingfisher, which owns B&Q and Screwfix in the UK, has adopted a cautious outlook for 2024 due to weakening demand in “big ticket” categories.
