Ketaki Bhagwati Appointed Independent Director Of Kotak Mahindra Bank

Ketaki Bhagwati has been appointed an Independent Director for four years at Kotak Mahindra Bank, with effect from May 18, 2024.

Bhagwati is an accomplished Independent Director and Senior Advisor, offering expertise in strategy, business development, operations, governance, and financial, credit, and risk management to various companies. Presently, she serves as an Independent Director on the Board of Bayer CropScience (India). Prior to her Board roles, she held the position of Chief Investment Officer in the Financial Institutions Group at the International Finance Corporation (IFC). During her tenure spanning nearly twenty-five years (1991–2005), she specialised in Private Equity, Mergers & Acquisitions, Debt & Structured Finance and Distressed Asset Workouts across multiple sectors in Asia, the Middle East, and Africa. She also worked at Credit Rating Information Services of India (CRISIL) in Mumbai.

She contributes her expertise as a member of the Investment Committee at Encourage Capital, a US-based impact fund focused on investments in India. She also serves as a Senior Advisor to the South Asia Center at the Atlantic Council (USA), concentrating on major economic policy issues in India. She held positions as an Independent Director on the Board at Axis Bank, Omniactive Health Technologies, and as a Nominee Director of IFC on the Board of Tikona Infinet. Her educational background includes a Master of Public Administration in Economic Development and Finance (Harvard University) and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science (Wellesley College).
