Keki Dadiseth, Dr. Ajai Puri Among Four Independent Directors Retiring From Britannia Industries
Avijit Deb, Dr. Ajai Puri, and Keki Dadiseth have retired upon completion of their terms as Non-Executive Independent Directors of Britannia Industries Limited on August 11, 2024. Further, Mr. Keki Elavia will also complete his term as Non-Executive Independent Director of the Company upon the conclusion of the 105th Annual General Meeting of the Company on August 12, 2024.
Avijit Deb is a solicitor and an advocate registered with the Bar Association of the Calcutta High Court. He operates his own firm of solicitors in Kolkata and brings over 45 years of legal experience to the table. Additionally, he has served on the boards and committees of several prominent companies.
Keki Dadiseth is the former Chairman of Hindustan Lever Limited (now Hindustan Unilever Limited) and a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England & Wales. Throughout his distinguished 27-year career at Hindustan Lever Limited, he also served as a Director and member of the Executive Committee of the Unilever Group from 2000 to 2005. In India, he has been actively involved with various industries, educational institutions, management, and medical organizations. He is a member of the Managing Committee of the Breach Candy Hospital Trust, a member of B. D. Petit Parsee General Hospital, and a Director on the Board of the Indian School of Business.
Dr. Ajai Puri has held several global roles, including Senior Vice President of Technical (Science and Technology) at The Minute Maid Company in the U.S. and President of Research, Development, and Product Integrity at Royal Numico in the Netherlands. He has also taken on significant assignments with Cadbury Schweppes PLC and The Coca-Cola Company. Dr. Puri earned his PhD in Food Science from the University of Maryland and an MBA from the Crummer Business School at Rollins College, Florida.
Mr. Keki Elavia is a Chartered Accountant and a retired Senior Partner of M/s. Kalyaniwalla & Mistry, Chartered Accountants. He has also been a partner of M/s. S.R. Batliboi, Chartered Accountants for a brief period. He was a member of the India UK Accountancy Task Force, constituted by the Ministry of Commerce, Government of India, the Indian Advisory Committee of Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited, and other renowned committees and bodies.
In another development, Vinit Mahadevan, Head of Strategy and Business Development, submitted his resignation on August 9, 2024. His last working day will be November 7, 2024.
