Kedar Joshi To Replace Bimal Bhattacharyya As Chief Audit Executive Of Axis Bank

Kedar Joshi has been appointed as Chief Audit Executive of Axis Bank Limited, effective June 23, 2025.

Bimal Bhattacharyya will cease to be the interim Chief Audit Executive and senior management of the Bank, effective June 23, 2025, and will be taking up another role within the Bank.

Joshi is a senior professional in risk and internal controls with over 25 years of experience, primarily in the banking sector. As Regional Head of Corporate Audit at Bank of America, he led audit functions across 12 Asia-Pacific (APAC) jurisdictions, covering global banking & markets, technology, operations, and support services. He also oversaw audits for global business services, managing offshore operations in India and strategic technology vendor engagements. Joshi led a team of approximately 150 audit professionals across nine APAC countries. He was a member of the Corporate Audit Senior Leadership Team and the APAC Regional Executive Committee, playing a key role in governance, risk oversight, and strategic decision-making across the region.

With a career spanning over 29 years across financial sectors in India, Bhattacharya is currently overseeing compliance functions, AML compliance, and the compliance oversight of subsidiaries and foreign branches of Axis Bank. Previously, he headed the Bank’s Finance & Accounts Department, managing financial reporting, taxation, capital planning, regulatory compliance, budgeting, and cost control. He also served as CEO of the bank’s Singapore branch (2010–2013), leading all business verticals. His earlier roles included leadership positions across corporate lending, SME and agri lending, treasury, and retail banking. Bhattacharya is a CA final rank holder and has contributed to the RBI’s working group on Ind-AS guidelines for banks in India.
