KEC International Appoints Former IAS Arvind Singh as Independent Director

The Board of Directors of KEC International Limited has today approved the appointment of Arvind Singh as an Additional Director (Non-Executive, Independent) with effect from June 1, 2024, for 5 years and to hold office as an Independent Director.

Arvind Singh has more than 35 years of distinguished service record as an officer in the Indian Administrative Service (IAS). Throughout his tenure, he has held prominent positions within the Government of India and the Government of Maharashtra, focusing primarily on policy formulation and execution at the national, state, and district levels. He has garnered extensive expertise in pivotal sectors such as infrastructure (power, energy, and airports), finance, tourism, and agriculture. Notably, his role as Secretary, Tourism, Government of India, saw him at the forefront of revitalising India’s tourism sector in the aftermath of the COVID pandemic, where he led the formulation of policies and strategies for recovery. He has also served as Chairman, Airports Authority of India (AAI), prior to which he was the Additional Chief Secretary/Principal Secretary, Energy, Government of Maharashtra, as well as Chairman and MD, Maharashtra State Power Generation Company Limited. He has represented India’s Ministry of Finance in Japan in the capacity of Minister (Economic & Commercial), Embassy of India, Tokyo. He was also Chairman and MD, Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Company Limited, and Director/Deputy Secretary, Government of India. He has attended mid-career training courses at Harvard University, Duke University, The Graduate Institute, Geneva, and LBSNAA, Mussoorie, and holds an M.A. (Economics) from the Delhi School of Economics, University of Delhi.
