Jindal Steel Appoints Sunil Agrawal As Interim CFO & Parimal Rai As Independent Director

Sunil Agrawal, who had taken charge from the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), following the vacation of office by the erstwhile CFO, effective July 15, 2025, has now been formally appointed as the CFO of Jindal Steel Limited, on an interim basis, effective October 4, 2025.

Further, Parimal Rai has been appointed as an Independent Director (Additional Director) of the company, with effect from October 4, 2025.

Agrawal is a Chartered Accountant with nearly 32 years of experience in corporate finance. He joined Jindal Steel in May 1993, initially in the machinery division, and later served in the mining and power divisions. Over his tenure, he has held multiple senior management positions across the finance function. Currently, he is Head of Group Accounts, leading the company’s accounting function and driving key projects and initiatives as part of the finance leadership team. His long association with the company has involved significant contributions to financial management and operational oversight across various business divisions.

Rai is a retired IAS officer (1985 batch, AGMUT Cadre) who retired at the rank of Secretary to the Government of India (GoI). He has served in key administrative roles, including Chief Secretary of Goa, Adviser to the Administrator of Chandigarh, Chairman of NDMC, and Administrator of Lakshadweep. He has overseen departments such as urban development, tourism, transport, health, and revenue. Rai has been recognised with awards, including the IIT Delhi Alumni Award and Karmaveer Puraskaar, and currently serves as a Supreme Court-nominated expert on university search committees and as a registered arbitrator.
