J.K. Cement’s Independent Director Satish Kumar Kalra Resigns

Satish Kumar Kalra has tendered his resignation from the post of Independent Director of J.K. Cement Limited, with effect from February 14, 2024. Kalra will be joining North East Small Finance Bank as MD and CEO, thus stepping down from the present directorship. Currently, he serves as an Independent Director on the Boards of PNB Gilts and Can Fin Homes as well. He is a member of the Advisory Board for Banking and Financial Fraud at CVC.

Kalra served as Managing Director and CEO (additional charge) at Andhra Bank for 6 months and worked at WTD as Executive Director from October 2012 to August 2017. He also held the position of General Manager Treasury at Allahabad Bank, apart from fulfilling various leadership roles in different zones.

He has been on the board of India First Life Insurance and served as an Independent Director on the Board of Lakshmi Vilas Bank until November 2020. He has over 40 years of experience in banking and NBFCs. He has undergone training from prestigious institutions such as Barclays Bank Plc in London, the University of Maryland, the Robert H. Smith School of Business, the CAFRAL programme in the USA, SIBOS in Dubai, and IIMs in Kolkata and Kozikode. His experience covers treasury management, corporate planning, inspection and audit, merchant banking, the board secretariat, credit monitoring, legal, industrial, and infrastructural finance.

He holds a Master’s degree in Science (M Sc), CAIIB, and a postgraduate degree in finance (PGDM).
