India Boasts Over 73,000 Startups With Women Directors Under Startup India Initiative

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry reported that India has recognised over 73,000 startups with at least one woman Director under the Startup India initiative, marking significant strides in entrepreneurship.

Cities such as Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Mumbai, and Delhi-NCR are driving innovation across diverse sectors, including fintech, edtech, and e-commerce. The “Indian Startup Ecosystem Report” highlights the use of technologies like AI, blockchain, and IoT to tackle local and global challenges. Programs such as the Startup India initiative, AIM, NIDHI, and SAMRIDH scheme provide substantial support. Global recognition is also increasing, with companies like BYJU’S and Ola expanding internationally and innovations like UPI inspiring global developments, strengthening India’s startup ecosystem.
