ICICI Lombard General Insurance Appoints Rajive Kumar as Independent Director
The Board of ICICI Lombard General Insurance Company Limited has approved the appointment of Rajive Kumar as an Additional Director in the category of Non-Executive, Independent Director for five years, with effect from July 19, 2024. Subject to the approval of members of the company.
The Board has approved the tenure of Amit Kushwaha as Chief Compliance Officer of the Company for a period of three years, with effect from July 19, 2024, to July 18, 2027.
Rajive Kumar is an Indian Administrative Service officer of the 1981 batch. He retired as Chief Secretary of Uttar Pradesh in 2018, following a long and illustrious career in the Government of India and the Government of Uttar Pradesh. Rajive Kumar has served as a civil servant for four decades in key positions in the Government of India and Uttar Pradesh from 1981 to 2018, including Principal Secretary Rural Development, Managing Director UPSIDC, Divisional Commissioner of Meerut and Saharanpur Divisions, and District Magistrate of Mathura and Firozabad districts. In the Government of India, he served as Shipping Secretary, Special / Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Additional Secretary /Joint Secretary in the Cabinet Secretariat, and Joint Secretary in the Department of Economic Affairs in the Ministry of Finance, amongst others. He was the first Chairperson of the Uttar Pradesh Real Estate Regulatory Authority from 2018 to 2023. He has served on the Boards of a number of companies since 1987, including Indian Oil Corporation Limited and GAIL (India). He was also on the Board of Governors of the World Maritime University (WMO) Malmo in Sweden and served as an expert on the Committee on Administrative and Financial Matters at the Organisation for Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) in The Hague, Netherlands. He holds a Master of Public Administration (MPA) from Harvard University, USA, and an MSc in Physics from Lucknow University.
Amit Kushwaha has over 21 years of total experience outside and within the company. In his current role as Head-Legal and Chief Compliance Officer, he is responsible for managing legal matters and regulatory compliance for the company. He is a graduate of Punjab University and completed his Bachelor of Law from Delhi University.
