HSBC Appoints Lisa McGeough As US CEO And President

HSBC has appointed Lisa McGeough as its new CEO and President of US operations, effective January 1, making her the first woman to lead the bank’s regional operations in over a decade.

McGeough will oversee the bank’s growth strategy in the United States, focusing on expanding its corporate and institutional banking business in North America. She joined HSBC in 2021 and previously served as co-head of global banking coverage. Before HSBC, she held roles at Morgan Stanley, Wells Fargo, and Toronto Dominion Securities. Her appointment reflects the bank’s emphasis on strengthening its presence in the US market. She has studied AB (Economics) from Bowdoin College, United States.
