HSBC Appoints Jason Henderson As Interim U.S. CEO; Lisa McGeough Steps Down

Jason Henderson takes over as Interim U.S. Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of HSBC after Lisa McGeough steps down to pursue other opportunities.

Henderson, deputy U.S. head of banking, will continue in that role while leading the U.S. business, reporting to Michael Roberts, CEO of corporate and institutional banking.

Henderson has been with HSBC for nearly two decades, having previously worked at RBC Capital Markets. Previously, he served as Managing Director (Europe) at RBC Capital Markets. He holds a bachelor’s degree in commerce from Queen’s University.

McGeough served as President, CEO, and Head of Banking for HSBC U.S., overseeing all U.S. businesses, including corporate and institutional banking. She also serves on the Boards of HSBC North America Holdings Inc., HSBC Bank USA, N.A., and HSBC USA Inc., with her appointment effective January 2025. Previously, she was Co-Head of Global Banking Coverage at HSBC Holdings plc, managing operations across 60 markets. She is a Bowdoin College economics graduate and a member of The Committee of 200.
