Heidelberg cement India’s Independent Women Director Jyoti Narang Appointed as Chairperson

Jyoti Narang, Independent Women Director, has been appointed as the new Chairperson of Heidelberg Cement India Limited, with effect from February 12, 2024. She replaced Ramakrishnan Ramamurthy, who ceased to be an Independent Director and Chairman after completing his five-year term.

Jyoti Narang, 63, is a seasoned business leader with experience in the service industry. Until recently, Narang led a group of luxury hotels that attract five million visitors each year, serving some of the world’s most discerning clients. She also helped start the Experience India Society, launching the first global campaign to promote India. Before that, she worked at the Tata Group. With a background in marketing, operations, and early manufacturing experience, she adds value to various sectors. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from Lady Shriram College for Women, University of Delhi, and an MBA in Finance from the University of Delhi. She also completed executive education programmes at Harvard Business School, the International Institute for Management Development (IMD) in Lausanne, and Wharton University of Pennsylvania, focusing on advanced management, strategic marketing, and brand management.
