Hasmukh Adhia appointed Chairman of Gujarat Alkalies and GMDC

The Gujarat Alkalies& Chemicals Ltd and Gujarat Mineral Development Corp Ltd (GMDC) have told the exchanges that Hasmukh Adhia, a former Union finance secretary and retired civil servant from the Gujarat cadre, has been chosen as chairman. Adhia follows Raj Kumar as CEO of Gujarat Alkalies and GMDC.

Adhia has a distinguished career serving in a variety of government ministries at both the state and federal levels. He served as the Finance Secretary and Revenue Secretary in the government of India. After retiring from IAS, he serves as the Principal Advisor to Gujarat’s chief minister. He is also the non-executive chairman of the Bank of Baroda and the Chancellor of Gujarat Central University. He is an active member of the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore, where he serves on the Board of Governors.
