Goodyear India Announces Leadership Changes: Arvind Bhandari As CMD, Sumit Chowdhury As Independent Director
Arvind Bhandari has been appointed as the Chairman and Managing Director (Key Management Personnel) of Goodyear India Limited with effect from January 2, 2025, subject to the approval of the shareholders through postal ballot.
Sumit Dutta Chowdhury has been appointed as the Non-Executive Independent Director of the company with effect from March 6, 2025. He will be succeeding Rajeev Kher, who will be retiring from the same position on completion of his term with effect from March 5, 2025.
Santosh Kumar resigns from the position of Whole-Time Director (Key Managerial Personnel) of the company with effect from December 31, 2024. Nonetheless, he will continue to work with the company as Vice President of Consumer Replacement PBU (Senior Management Personnel).
Arvind Bhandari has over 25 years of experience spanning sales, branding, marketing, and general management with companies like ITC, Pepsi, and Nestle. His career includes global roles across Asia, Africa, LATAM, the Middle East, and the USA, such as Global CEO of Wyeth Nutrition and EVP at Nestle Nutrition. He has an MBA from SP Jain University, Mumbai, with a bachelor’s in Arts from St. Stephen’s College and an Executive Management Programme from IMD, Switzerland.
Sumit Dutta Chowdhury specialises in digital transformation and technology solutions for companies and governments. He has consulted under the Smart Cities Mission and Swachh Bharat Mission and currently advises the Government of Mauritius. As Founder and CEO of GreenEarthX Inc., he leads a global platform for sustainable fuels. He is also the founder of Gaia Smart Cities, focusing on digitalisation solutions. He holds a BTech from IIT Kanpur and an MS and PhD from Carnegie Mellon University.
