Gonzalo Luchetti Set To Succeed Mark Mason As CFO Of Citigroup

Gonzalo Luchetti has been appointed as Head of U.S. Personal Banking at Citigroup and will join in March 2026. He will succeed Mark Mason, who will move into the role of Executive Vice Chair and Senior Executive Adviser to Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Jane Fraser.

Luchetti is also a member of Citi’s Executive Management Team. Before this role, he led the Consumer Bank across Asia and EMEA (Europe, Middle East & Africa), covering deposits, wealth management, credit cards, loans, mortgages, and small business services. He previously headed the Asia Retail Bank, where he focused on distribution, scaling select markets, and advancing digital operations. Luchetti earlier served as Global Head of Wealth Management and Insurance in New York. He joined Citi in 2006 after roles at JPMorgan Chase and Bain & Company. He holds an MBA from Stanford and a computer science degree from the Technological Institute of Buenos Aires.

Mason is also a member of Citi’s Executive Management Team. Before becoming CFO, he was CFO of Citi’s Institutional Clients Group and led the company’s Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review process. He is a Director at Microsoft and previously served on Primerica’s Board. He joined Citi in 2001 and has held senior roles, including CEO of Citi Private Bank, CEO of Citi Holdings, and CFO and Head of Strategy and M&A for Global Wealth Management. Earlier, he worked in strategy and business development at Lucent Technologies, strategy consulting at Marakon Associates, and investment banking at Goldman Sachs. Mason holds a finance degree from Howard University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
