Girish Paranjpe Joins Mphasis Limited as Independent Director, Aravind Viswanathan is appointed new CFO
Mphasis Limited has appointed Girish Paranjpe as an Independent Director, effective October 1, 2024, for a five-year term, pending shareholder approval. Davinder Singh Brar will retire on September 30, 2024, after completing his tenure as an Independent Director.
Girish Paranjpe is a co-promoter and General Partner at Exfinity Venture Partners, a venture fund focused on tech start-ups, and a member of its Investment Committee. He also serves as an Independent Director on the Boards of Axis Bank Limited, CRISIL Limited, Max Life Insurance Company Limited, and Modenik Lifestyle Private Limited. Additionally, Paranjpe is a Director at IBS Plc.
With over 35 years of corporate experience, Paranjpe has held key roles at companies such as Bloom Energy, Wipro, and Wimco. He began his career in 1982 as a management consultant at what is now Deloitte. In 1990, he joined Wipro, eventually becoming the joint CEO of Wipro’s IT business and a member of the Board of Directors in 2008. After 21 years at Wipro, Paranjpe joined Bloom Energy in 2011 as Managing Director of Bloom International, overseeing its international operations. He joined Axis Bank as a Director in 2013.
Paranjpe has represented the IT industry at various public forums, including the Prime Minister’s Task Force on Information Technology, NASSCOM, and the International Advisory Board of Credit Agricole. He holds a commerce degree and is a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and the Institute of Cost Accountants of India.
The company has also announced the appointment of Aravind Viswanathan as the Chief Financial Officer of the company with immediate effect, and Manish Dugar has resigned as the Chief Financial Officer of the company effective immediately.
Aravind Viswanathan is a seasoned finance leader with 22 years of global experience in shareholder value creation, mergers and acquisitions, financial and strategic planning, budgeting, and corporate governance. Most recently, he served as the CFO of Tanla Platforms, a leading CPaaS company in India, starting in April 2021. Prior to that, Aravind spent 19 years at Wipro Limited, where he managed business finance for strategic business units, financial planning and analysis, and order-to-cash processes. He also served as corporate treasurer and vice president of investor relations at Wipro. Aravind holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Management from the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore and a bachelor of commerce from the University of Madras.
