FTOs Told To Display Key Training Data Online: DGCA

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has instructed all flying training organisations (FTOs) in India to maintain regularly updated websites with key operational details.

The DGCA requires flying schools to maintain dedicated websites with regularly updated information on training timelines, aircraft availability, number of instructors, designated examiners, ground school, and simulator facilities. This move aims to help aspiring pilots make informed decisions when selecting a flying training organisation. Completing 200 hours of flying is a key requirement for obtaining a commercial pilot licence in India, but delays due to limited resources often push students to train abroad. The directive follows DGCA chief Faiz Ahmed Kidwai’s effort to increase transparency across FTOs.

A letter issued on Friday outlines that all specified information must be clearly displayed and kept current on FTO websites to support better student awareness and informed choice.
