IFCI’s MD Manoj Mittal recommended for heading SIDBI, Manoj Shukla selected as MD of NHB
The Financial Services Institutions Bureau (FSIB) has recommended Manoj Mittal, Managing Director of IFCI, for the appointment as Chairman and Managing Director of SIDBI. FSIB recruits Directors for state-owned banks and financial institutions. Furthermore, Sanjay Shukla has been recommended by FSIB to be the Managing Director at the National Housing Bank (NHB).
According to a statement from the Bureau, on April 9 and 10, the FSIB interviewed 21 candidates.
Manoj Mittal will take over from S. Ramann, who has served as the Chairman and Managing Director of SIDBI since April 2021 under a three-year tenure. Previously, Mittal served as Deputy Managing Director at SIDBI from 2016 to 2021. His contributions included involvement in shaping and implementing SIDBI Vision 2.0, which strengthened the institution’s financial standing and impact.
Sanjay Shukla’s selection for the NHB position followed interviews with 16 candidates over two days. Shukla currently serves at Centrum Housing Finance and has previousworked with various organisations, including LIC Housing Finance.
The final decision on FSIB’s recommendations for both positions will rest with the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. FSIB is led by former Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) secretary Bhanu Pratap Sharma, along with members Animesh Chauhan, Deepak Singhal, and Shailendra Bhandari, each bringing a wealth of experience from their respective backgrounds in finance and banking.
