
Fredrik Westin To Succeed Maarten de Vries As AkzoNobel CFO
Fredrik Westin will take over as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of AkzoNobel effective January 1, 2026, succeeding Maarten de Vries, who will retire in April 2026 after completing his term.
Westin has over 25 years of international experience in the industrial and automotive sectors. He currently serves as CFO and Executive Vice President at Autoliv, a global leader in automotive safety, listed in the US and Europe. Before this, he held CFO roles at Sandvik Mining and Rock Technology and Johnson Controls. Known for improving operational efficiency and aligning business strategy with customer needs, Westin has a track record of driving performance and simplifying organisational structures.
Vries joined AkzoNobel in January 2018 as CFO and member of the Board of Management. Before that, he served as CFO and board member at both Intertrust Group and TNT Express. From 2011 to 2014, he was CEO of TP Vision, a global standalone business. Earlier in his career, he held senior leadership roles at Royal Philips Electronics, including Chief Information Officer and Chief Purchasing Officer at the Group Management Committee level. Maarten has played a key role in driving transformation and value creation throughout his career. He was educated in the Netherlands.
