Fredrik Hansoon Replaces Johan Ekdahl As CFO Of Volvo Cars

Volvo Cars has appointed Fredrik Hansson as Chief Financial Officer, replacing Johan Ekdahl, amid recent leadership changes and shifting global trade policies.

Hansson brings extensive experience in financial management, strategy, and performance steering. He joined Volvo Cars in 2021 as Head of Global Controlling and Performance Steering and was appointed Deputy CFO and Group Management Team member in 2023. Prior to Volvo Cars, he was a partner at McKinsey & Company, where he worked globally within the automotive sector, including with Volvo Cars, on strategy, corporate finance, digital transformations, and efficiency improvements. He combines a deep understanding of the company with expertise in large-scale efficiency programmes across the mobility and automotive industry. Hansson holds a master’s degree in finance from the School of Business, Economics and Law at the University of Gothenburg.
