Former SEC Crypto Legal Chief Michael Selig Nominated By President Trump For CFTC Chair

President Donald Trump has nominated Michael Selig, currently Chief Legal Advisor of the SEC Cryptocurrency Working Group, as Chairman of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), according to Bloomberg.

Selig previously served as an assistant to SEC Chairman Paul Atkins and has coordinated SEC and CFTC policies across financial and cryptocurrency sectors. Early in his career, he was a partner in the asset management division at Willkie Farr & Gallagher. Selig’s experience in both regulatory and private sector roles positions him to guide policy alignment across these agencies.
