
Former PayPal CEO Dan Schulman Appointed As CEO Of Verizon
Verizon has appointed former PayPal Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Dan Schulman as CEO, succeeding Hans Vestberg, who led the company since 2018.
Vestberg will remain on the Board until 2026 and serve as a special advisor to support the leadership transition and oversee the completion of Verizon’s acquisition of Frontier Communications.
Verizon also named Mark Bertolini as Chairman of the Board.
Schulman, over his career, has focused on transforming financial services to enhance the financial well-being of people, families, and businesses globally. Before joining Verizon, Schulman served in leadership roles at PayPal, American Express, Sprint Nextel Corporation, Priceline Group, and AT&T. He currently serves on PayPal’s Board of Directors, is a life member of the Council on Foreign Relations, and co-chairs the World Economic Forum’s Steering Committee for global financial inclusion. Schulman holds a BA from Middlebury College and an MBA from New York University’s Leonard N. Stern School of Business. Recognised for his leadership, he has received several honours, including Fortune’s Top 20 Businesspersons of the Year and the Frederick Douglass Award.
