Former Google executive Narayan Gangadhar joins 5paisa.com as CEO

5paisa Capital, a discount brokerage firm, has announced the appointment of Narayan Gangadhar as its Chief Executive Officer. Gangadhar, a former executive at Google, brings over 20 years of experience primarily from global technology companies such as Google, Uber, and Amazon.

Gangadhar is a graduate of Mumbai University with a Bachelor of Engineering degree and holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science from Worcester Polytechnic Institute

Venkataraman, the promoter of 5paisa.com, expressed confidence in Gangadhar’s abilities, highlighting how his technical skills and experience with tech giants will be instrumental in driving innovation and enhancing the user experience on the trading platform.

As of March 2023, 5paisa.com boasts a substantial customer base of approximately 3.5 million clients. In a significant development, the company recently announced its merger with the online retail trading business of IIFL Securities. Upon completion of the all-stock deal, this merger is expected to add over 1.5 million customers, bringing the total customer count to 5 million.
