Fermenta Biotech Appoints Pradeep Chandan as Independent Director

The Board of Directors of Fermenta Biotech Limited has approved the appointment of Pradeep M. Chandan as an Additional (Independent) Director with effect from February 12, 2024. The Board has also approved the appointment of Varadvinayak V. Khambete as Compliance Officer, with effect from February 12, 2024. He replaced Srikant N. Sharma, who will continue to be the Company Secretary (Key Managerial Personnel).

Pradeep M. Chandan, a fellow member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICAI), has over 35 years of professional experience in the corporate sector, including a remarkable 30-year tenure within multinational corporations. Chandan has extensive domain experience and expertise in various functions, including legal, compliance, corporate governance, ESG reporting, corporate restructuring, intellectual property rights, real estate, establishing joint ventures, and spearheading greenfield projects. He was a Whole-time Director, Legal, General Counsel (South Asia) and Company Secretary of BASF India Ltd., a German multinational. He was also on the Boards of various BASF Group companies in South Asia. Prior to BASF, he was also associated with Britannia Industries Ltd. and Bhor Industries Ltd., among others, and held leadership positions. He is known for his strategic acumen and effective stakeholder management and is recognised for delivering practical and strategic counsel in complex business scenarios.
