Farida Khambata Retired As Independent Director Of Tata Steel
Farida Khambata ceased to be an Independent Director of Tata Steel Limited effective from December 11, 2024, in terms of the retirement policy applicable to the Board of Directors of the company. Khambata was inducted as a member of the Board effective August 12, 2021.
Farida Khambata is a Co-Founder of Cartica. She previously held key roles at the International Finance Corporation (IFC), where she was a member of IFC’s Management Group, the organisation’s senior leadership team. In 1986, Khambata joined IFC, and before that, she managed pension fund assets at the World Bank. She is currently a member of the Advisory Board of the ADM CEECAT Fund. She serves as an Independent Director on the Boards of Tata Steel Ltd., Kotak Mahindra Life Insurance Co. Ltd., and several other organisations. She has also served as an Independent Director for Tata Sons Pvt. Ltd. She has a Masters from the University of Cambridge, a Master of Science in Business Management from the London Business School, and a Chartered Financial Analyst. Additionally, she has completed the Advanced Management Program at Wharton.
