Ex-IAS GK Pillai joins Berger Paints as Independent Director

Gopal Krishna Pillai has been appointed as an Additional Director at Berger Paints India Limited in the Non-Executive, Independent category effective May 15, 2023. His term will last for five years beginning May 15, 2023. Pillai 73, is a retired Indian Administrative Service (I.A.S) Officer and has worked in several senior positions in the Central Government and StateGovernments.

Anoop Hoon and Sonu Halan Bhasin have also been re-appointed as Non-Executive, Independent Directors for a second consecutive term of five years starting from February 1, 2024.Mr. Hoon, 67, is a versatile professional with expertise in various fields and has held significant roles as Business Head in renowned corporations such as Asian Paints Limited, Century Plyboards (India) Ltd., BOC Gases Ltd., and the Gramophone Co. India (HMV) Ltd. Mrs. Bhasin, 59, is an accomplished professional with over 30 years of experience, she has led and managed large businesses and diverse teams in financial and non-financial sectors, both in India and abroad. She holds senior positions andserves as an Independent Director in some well-known listed companies.

Berger Paints has also announced the reappointment of Kuldip Singh Dhingra as a Non-Executive, Non-Independent Director. Dhingra is the Chairman of the Board of Directors. He is a promoter and an industrialist with long-standing experience in the paint and related industries. His rich experience and expertise are helpful for the organic and inorganic growth of the business.
