EU Receives Antitrust Complaint Against Broadcom Over VMware Programme Changes

Broadcom Inc. faces a complaint before the European Commission after a group of cloud providers sought action over changes to its VMware partner programme in Europe.

The Cloud Infrastructure Services Providers in Europe have asked regulators to impose interim measures to stop the company from ending its VMware Cloud Service Provider programme in the region. The group said the move would limit the participation of cloud service providers and affect customers. The complaint follows earlier concerns raised over Broadcom’s acquisition of VMware in 2023. The European Commission confirmed it has received the complaint and is reviewing it under its procedures.

Broadcom said it is investing in partners in Europe and disputed the claims. The industry group has requested steps to suspend the programme changes and allow providers to continue participation.
