Erik Savola Appointed As Citigroup’s Europe Corporate Banking Head

Citigroup promoted Erik Savola to lead its Corporate Banking Operations in Europe, effective immediately, according to an internal memo.

Savola, who has been with Citigroup for over 25 years, has most recently served as Head of Nordic Banking. In his new role, he will continue to be based in Stockholm, Sweden, and will join the corporate banking executive committee. He holds a master’s degree in business administration (MBA). Savola will report directly to Jason Rekate, global Head of Corporate Banking; John Chirico, Co-Head of Banking, Capital Markets, and Advisory for North America; and Nacho Gutiérrez-Orrantia, Co-Head of Banking, Capital Markets, and Advisory for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
