
Emcure Pharmaceuticals Reappoints Dr. Vidya R. Yeravdekar, Dr. Shailesh K. Ayyangar & Vijay K. Gokhale As Independent Directors
Emcure Pharmaceuticals has reappointed Dr. Vidya Rajiv Yeravdekar as an Independent Director for a three-year tenure, effective June 6, 2026.
Further, Dr. Shailesh Kripalu Ayyangar and Vijay Keshav Gokhale have been reappointed as Independent Directors for a five-year tenure.
All three directors have been serving on the Board since April 16, 2021.
Dr. Yeravdekar is the Principal Director of Symbiosis Society and Pro Chancellor of Symbiosis International University. She also serves on the Advisory Group of Analytical and Advisory Services at the World Bank. She is a member of the expert group on Global Outreach of Higher Education constituted by the University Grants Commission for the implementation of the National Education Policy 2020. She has been involved in higher education leadership and policy-related work in India. Dr. Yeravdekar holds an MBBS degree, a bachelor’s degree in law from the University of Pune, and a PhD in internationalisation of higher education in India from Symbiosis International University. Her work includes academic administration and policy engagement.
Dr. Ayyangar previously served on Sanofi’s International Leadership Team and held the role of Country Chair for India and South Asia, where he oversaw business operations and regional strategy. During his tenure, he was involved in expanding the company’s presence across multiple healthcare segments. He has over 40 years of experience across healthcare and pharmaceuticals. His work spans pharmaceutical research and development, biologicals, manufacturing operations, animal health, and consumer healthcare. Dr. Ayyangar holds a bachelor’s degree in veterinary science and animal husbandry from Gujarat Agricultural University and a postgraduate diploma in management from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad.
Gokhale is a former diplomat with a career spanning several decades in the Indian Foreign Service (IFS), which he joined in 1981. He served in senior roles, including Secretary (Finance), Director (China and East Asia), High Commissioner to Malaysia from January 2010 to October 2013, Ambassador to Germany from October 2013 to January 2016, and Ambassador to China from January 2016 to October 2017. He later served as the Foreign Secretary of India from January 2018 to January 2020. His experience covers diplomacy, international relations, and government administration. Gokhale holds a master’s degree in history. During his service, he held assignments in Hong Kong, Hanoi, Beijing, and New York.
