Dr. Urjit Patel Steps Down from Britannia Industries Board Following IMF Appointment

Dr. Urjit Patel has resigned from the Board of Britannia Industries Limited, effective October 30, 2025, following his appointment as Executive Director representing India at the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

Dr. Patel, an economist and a former Governor of the RBI, has previously served as Vice President (VP) for Investment Operations at the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank and as Deputy Governor of the RBI. He began his career at the IMF in 1990 and has also worked with the Ministry of Finance and private sector institutions. He holds degrees from the London School of Economics, Oxford University, and Yale University.
