Dinesh Kanabar Joins Reliance Industries Board Following Raminder Singh Gujral’s Term Completion

Dinesh Kanabar has been appointed as an Independent Director (Additional Director) of Reliance Industries Limited with effect from June 12, 2025, in the vacancy created upon completion of former Finance Secretary Raminder Singh Gujral’s term.

Kanabar serves on the Boards of prominent companies such as Adani Green Energy Ltd and PVR Inox Ltd. He is also the Founder and CEO of Dhruva Advisors LLP, one of India’s largest tax and regulatory advisory firms. He has also served on the National Executive Committee of FICCI and the Board of Shiv Nadar University, Chennai. Before founding Dhruva Advisors, Kanabar held senior leadership positions at major firms—he was Deputy CEO of KPMG India and Chairman of its Tax Practice, Chairman of Tax at PwC India, and Deputy Managing Partner at RSM & Co. He has worked closely with the Government of India on key policy initiatives, including as a member of the Rangachary Committee on IT/ITES taxation and Safe Harbour Rules and on the Body of Trade formed by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

Gujral is a former Finance Secretary to the Government of India (GoI) with extensive experience across key economic ministries. He has held senior roles including Secretary – Revenue, Expenditure, and Road Transport & Highways. He also served as Chairman of NHAI and Director General of Foreign Trade. Gujral is an Independent Director on the Boards of Adani Green Energy, Jio Platforms, and Reliance Jio Infocomm. At Reliance Industries, he chairs the Audit and Risk Management Committees. He brings deep expertise in public finance, taxation, infrastructure, and corporate governance. He is a B.A. (Economics Honours) graduate with degrees in LLB, MBA from IIM Ahmedabad, and M.A. in International Finance/Business from the Fletcher School (USA).
