DBS Group CEO Piyush Gupta to Retire in March 2025
Piyush Gupta, the Indian-origin Chief Executive of Singapore’s largest bank, DBS Group, will step down in March 2025. Gupta took the helm at DBS in 2009 after a 27-year career at Citigroup. He received the Public Service Star by Singapore’s President in 2020. Under his leadership, DBS gained recognition for its innovative use of technology. DBS was named the “World’s Best Bank” by notable publications such as Euromoney and Global Finance. Gupta, 64, will retire at the next annual general meeting on March 28, 2025.
Tan Su Shan is set to take over the leadership role and has been appointed as deputy CEO, in addition to her current role as the group head of institutional banking. Shan, 56, has more than 35 years of experience in consumer banking, wealth management, and institutional banking. She has also worked in major financial centers, including Hong Kong, Tokyo, and London.
