Company Registrations In India Rise 108% In September, Reflecting Investor Confidence

India recorded 23,113 new company registrations in September 2025, marking a 108% year-on-year rise and the highest annual increase in at least five years, according to the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA).

The first half of FY26 saw a 38.4% surge in new incorporations. Officials attributed the growth to strong Q1 GDP performance at 7.8%, rural consumption recovery, and global confidence in India’s economy. A significant portion of new firms are subsidiaries of foreign companies, suggesting a potential turnaround in FDI inflows. As per MCA data, business services lead active firms at 26%, followed by manufacturing at 19% and trading at 14%.
