Cipla Promotes Achin Gupta To Global COO Role

Cipla Limited has approved the elevation of Achin Gupta, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of One India Business (SMP) as the Global Chief Operating Officer (GCOO) of the company, effective February 01, 2025.

Gupta has over two decades of experience in business development across India, Europe, and emerging markets. His efforts at Cipla have focused on expanding presence in chronic therapies, Tier 2-6 geographies, Wellness brands, and building a trade generics business with direct customer reach. He has also formed strategic partnerships with MNCs for in-licensing deals and innovation. He has emphasised Cipla’s patient-centric approach and digital transformation through initiatives like Cipla Digital Health and Retail Task Force. Gupta holds an M.Tech. degree from IIT Delhi and an MBA from IIM Ahmedabad.
