Chandrashekhar Bhave Retires As Independent Director of Mahindra & Mahindra Financial Services
Chandrashekhar Bhave has completed his term as an Independent Director of Mahindra & Mahindra Financial Services Limited and accordingly has retired with effect from February 02, 2025.
Bhave joined the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) in 1975 after earning a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. From 1992 to 1996, he served as Senior Executive Director at SEBI, contributing to the regulatory framework for Indian capital markets. He took voluntary retirement from the IAS to establish the National Securities Depository Limited (NSDL) in 1996 and served as Chairman and Managing Director until 2008. From 2008 to 2011, he was Chairman of SEBI and held positions at the International Organisation of Securities Commissions (IOSCO). He was a board member at PIOB, a Trustee at IFRS Foundation, and a Non-Executive Chairman of IIHS. He held various roles in the central and state governments and received awards from the Government of Maharashtra for contributions to family welfare and administration.
