C.K. Ranganathan, Ajay Bhaskar & R. Dinesh To Join Ramco Cements’ Board
The members of the company have approved the appointment of C.K. Ranganathan, Ajay Bhaskar Baliga, and R. Dinesh as Non-Executive Independent Directors for 5 years, with effect from March 1, 2024.
CK Ranganathan is the founder and promoter of CavinKare Pvt. Ltd., a leading beauty cosmetics company offering a diverse range of products under various brands like Chik, Spinz, Meera, Nyle, and more, both in domestic and international markets. As the Chairman and Managing Director of CKPL, Ranganathan also pioneered the concept of ‘Unisex Salons’ in India with popular brands Green Trends and Limelite. Beyond business, he has held prominent posts in industry organisations and is a founder-member of the Ability Foundation, an NGO supporting the rehabilitation of the disabled. Ranganathan established the Cavinkare Ability Awards to recognise individuals overcoming physical limitations, emphasising the importance of attitude. He holds a bachelor’s degree in chemistry.
Ajay Bhaskar Baliga has over 40 years of experience in the Alcobev industry and has held key positions in factory management, production control, and global supply solutions for Diageo Plc. Formerly an Executive Director at Allied Blenders and Distillers, Baliga served as Global Supply Director for Diageo PLC. With a background in chemical engineering, he has contributed to acquisitions, integration, and mergers, optimising manufacturing costs, ensuring safety standards, and enhancing sustainability in the industry. He played a pivotal role in transforming USL’s manufacturing operations to align with Diageo Global Supply standards, making it world-class. As the Global Supply Director for Diageo Pic, he formulated Mainstream Strategy and Growth Plans, covering markets in Africa, South America, and the Far East.
R. Dinesh belongs to the fourth generation of the TVS family. He is a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). Dinesh serves as the Executive Chairman of TVS Supply Chain Solutions and Director of TVS Mobility and Ki Mobility Solutions, overseeing the myTVS brand in India.
He is the President of CII for FY 2023–24. He chairs the CII Institute of Logistics. Dinesh played a pivotal role in getting the ‘infrastructure status’ for the logistics sector. He is also the Chairman of the CII FBN (Family Business Network) India Chapter Council.
He is the founder of TVS Supply Chain Solutions (formerly TVS Logistics). His venture, Ki Mobility Solutions, is India’s largest automotive aftermarket digital platform, collaborating with investors like Exor International and Mitsubishi Corporation. Under his leadership, subsidiaries have been established across Sri Lanka, the UK, Spain, Germany, Thailand, Bangladesh, the USA, Singapore, China, and Australia.
