
BPCL’s Sanjay Khanna Assumes Additional Role as CMD; Krishnakumar Gopalan Retires
Sanjay Khanna has assumed additional charge as Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) following the retirement of Krishnakumar Gopalan on April 30, 2025.
Khanna currently serves as Director (Refineries) at BPCL and is also on the Boards of Bharat Petro Resources and Ratnagiri Refinery and Petrochemicals. He chairs the Technical Committee for Petroleum Refineries under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas. He has overseen key projects across BPCL’s Mumbai, Kochi, and Numaligarh refineries, including the Propylene Derivative Petrochemical Project. Khanna has more than 30 years of experience and is a graduate of NIT Tiruchirapalli with a degree in chemical engineering and a master’s degree in finance management.
