Bharti Airtel’s Independent Director Dinesh Mittal Retired

Dinesh Kumar Mittal, Independent Director of Bharti Airtel Limited, has retired from the Board of the company with effect from March 12, 2024, on completion of his stipulated tenure. The company has also announced some changes effective March 13, 2024: Douglas Anderson Baillie, Independent Director, will be the Chairperson of the HR and Nomination Committee; Kimsuka Narasimhan, Independent Director, will be the Chairperson of the Risk Management Committee; and Nisaba Godrej will be the Lead Independent Director.

D. K. Mittal, a retired Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer, has served the Government of India in diverse roles. Throughout his career, he held key positions such as Secretary in the Department of Financial Services, Secretary in the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, and Additional Secretary in the Department of Commerce. He has extensive hands-on experience in areas such as Infrastructure, International Trade, Urban Development, Renewable Energy, Agriculture Development, Micro-Credit, Corporate Governance, Banking, Insurance, pensions, and finance. His educational background includes a Master’s degree in Physics with a specialisation in Electronics from the University of Allahabad, India.
