
B.S. Nagesh Retires; Nirvik Singh Appointed As Chairman Of Shoppers Stop
Shoppers Stop Chairman B.S. Nagesh retires, ending a 34-year association. The Board has appointed Nirvik Singh as the new Chairman.
Nagesh, widely known as BSN, has been associated with Shoppers Stop since its inception in 1991, serving as Managing Director until 2009 and later as Vice Chairman. He played a key role in launching Hypercity and acquiring Crossword. Recognised for his contributions to Indian retail, he was named among Business India’s top 50 managers and was a finalist for Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 2005. In 2008, he became the first Asian inducted into the World Retail Hall of Fame. Nagesh also helped establish the Retailers Association of India and served as its chairman. He is on the board of IGDS and founded TRRAIN, a charitable trust for retail associates in India.
Former Chairman of Raymond Apparel Ltd, Singh was named Campaign Asia’s Agency Head of the Year in 2020. Currently, he is the Global COO and International President of Grey Group, overseeing operations across Asia Pacific, the Middle East, Africa, Europe, and Latin America. With over 30 years of leadership in advertising and marketing, he has worked across five continents and sectors such as CPG, retail, beverages, tobacco, and fintech. He began his career at Lipton India before joining Trikaya Advertising (Grey India), rising through roles including CEO of Southeast Asia and Chairman & CEO, APAC. Singh led several acquisitions in markets including China, India, and the UK, across domains like e-commerce, shopper marketing, and martech.
